New Years Wishes, & 2009 Summary

Master Wolf, the MWTA Instructors and members, would like to wish all of our friends from around the world a very happy new year!
We look forward to seeing you in 2010!

2009 ... Another World Class Year for Master Wolf’s Academies …

2009 was another successful year for members of Master Wolf’s Taekwon-Do Academies (MWTA) with National, International, European and World victories.

For some of the members, they were busy throughout the year, at tournaments such as the Kickboxing Nationals (WAKO and WKA), Austrian Classic, Italian Open and Junior European Championships. Lucy Wolf, Jamaine Hemmings, Joann Rolison and Rhianne O’Neill saw consistent success throughout the season. Some of these tournaments registered between 1500 to 2500 entrants, so it was no easy task!

The competition year culminated at the World Championships in Spain. The MWTA squad was strong and included schoolchildren from the Thanet area.
Some added to their list of world titles and for others this was their first success at a world championships. Gold medallists included Lucy Wolf, Jamaine Hemmings, Rhianne O’Neill, Reuben Hemmings, Joann Rolison, Tom Smith, Gavin Williamson, Geanina Luca and Jack England.
Overall, the MWTA squad did amazingly well. Other medallists included Charlotte Jones, Lea Fendt, Duane Black, Joe La’Roche, Steve Morgan, Frankie Smith and Dani Scorer.

Another highlight of the year, in the middle of 2009, was an ITF (International Taekwon-Do Federation) seminar with President, Grand Master Choi Jung Hwa – who is the worlds leading exponent of Taekwon-Do. The seminar also included many of the highest-ranking Masters in the world, such as Master Nicholls and Master Wolf.
The day was enjoyed by all, and it was a great opportunity for many of the students who had not met Grand Master Choi before.

Everyone is looking forward to the events of 2010, which include the ITF World Championships for those who qualify!
