Master Wolf's Seminar in Sardinia

Report by Mr Richard Belle, 4th Degree

Over the weekend of 22nd to the 25th February 2008, Master Wolf travelled to Sardinia accompanied by Miss Lucy Wolf and Mr Richard Belle.
Master Wolf was invited to conduct a seminar for A.s. Taekwon-do Sardegna, by Mr Efsio Tolu - President, and Miss Silvia Farigu - Instructor, in collaboration with ITA (Italian Taekwon-Do Association) INO 330.
After the short plane journey, we were greeted at the airport by Mr Carlo Denei, who kindly drove us all the way from the Airport in Alghero, to Caglairi, where the seminar was due to take place.
The remainder of the Friday was a very relaxing and social affair, giving Master Wolf and the ITA Instructors time to discuss the areas to be covered during the seminar and share stories about there time in Tae Kwon-Do.

The seminar began on the Saturday afternoon with a senior mixed grade class. After a strenuous warm-up, the main session got underway with some line work focusing on the correct execution of selected blocking, striking and kicking techniques. The class then progressed onto drill work using large shields. In this part of the session, Master Wolf let out some secrets into the type of training he puts his many world champions through!
The session lasted 4 hours and at the end all students left feeling like they had gained a lot of new ideas of how to train.

After a very nice evening meal the night before, we had an early start on the Sunday. The day started with a junior colour belt session, this was very enjoyable with Instructors from the ITA, including Mr Fabrizio Contini - 6th degree, Mr Dino Denei 5th degree, Miss Silvia Farigu 4th degree, Mr. Giovanni Congia - 3rd degree, Mr. Carlo Denei - 2nd degree and Mr.Raimondo Mamusa - 2nd degree, along with Miss Wolf and Mr Belle assisting with corrections. The children clearly enjoyed the class and the teaching of Master Wolf, as they swarmed him after the session, asking for signatures and photographs! Of course Master Wolf obliged and the children patiently waited whilst Master Wolf took photos with the children and signed everything from t-shirts to bags! Many of these photos can be seen in the MWTA Gallery.

Once we had finished the class, and the photo session, it was time for lunch, and Mr Tolu extended is hospitality even further by holding a private lunch at his home. The food was amazing and we finished the lunch with a tour of his home and grounds.
The afternoon brought a very challenging session just for black belts. It was another four hour session working on more sparring drills and to finish off we did some rounds of sparring.

Master Wolf would like to thank all of the students who attended the training session, and Mr Tolu and Miss Farigu for their generous hospitality. Also, Master Wolf wanted to add that he would like to thank Miss Wolf and Mr Belle for assisting at the seminar.
We would also like to thank Mr Carlos Denei for taking his time and energy to drive us to and from the airport.
Master Wolf would also like to add that he had an enjoyable and memorable time in Sardinia, and would be more than happy to return anytime.
