Watford Freestyle Tournament
First of all Master Wolf and the MWTA instructors and students would like to wish everyone in martial arts, a happy and prosperous 2007!
Master Wolf’s Taekwon-Do Academies (MWTA) got off to a flying start for 2007, when two students from the Langley Academy took part in a Freestyle tournament that was special invite only. The event was held on Saturday 27th January, in Watford, hosted by David and Becky Ryan.
MWTA members Christian Bland and Omar Al’Kahil represented Taekwon-Do in true sportsmanlike manner!
First up was Christian Bland who fought his way to the silver medal in the under 64Kg division. He showed sheer determination and was not fazed at all by his opponents. He is showing all the signs of a good, all round Taekwon-Do student … one to watch out for in the future!
Next up was Omar in the heavy weight division and the cards really seemed stacked against him! Omar however showed great courage, and what he lacked in experience compared to his opponent, he made up for by showing tremendous heart when faced against a 6ft 7in experienced fighter!
I personally would like to thank both of the opponents for showing remarkable sportsmanship and respect toward the MWTA fighters.
On behalf of Master Wolf, MWTA instructors and students, and from myself, I would like to thank David and Becky Ryan for the invites and for putting on a great show … best wishes to them both, from Master Wolf and the MWTA members.
